There can be multiple reasons which could include learner’s dissatisfaction, instructor’s incompetence, outdated learning material, cultural differences and miscommunications about expectations. The resistance can manifest in multiple forms which could harm the learning process as whole. Understanding the resistance could involve understanding the learner needs and may require specialized intervention and resources available to the instructor. The organization can help play an effective role weeding out the resistance and ensuring that learner’s expectations are set in the start of the learning and are met through a standardized process with an opportunity to share their grievances freely.
